Wayne Hills’ Stanley Oseback will play collegiate football at The College of New Jersey, starting this fall

Stanley Oseback worked long and hard to be a solid football player for one of the best high school programs in Northern New Jersey.

And that hard work has paid off, as Oseback enjoyed an excellent senior year, on the gridiron, and will continue playing football on the collegiate level, starting this fall, at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ).

Oseback (54) had a tremendous season for Hills in 2020, as the Patriots finished 5-2.

“Playing football in college wasn’t a question, but I always wondered where it would be,” said Oseback. “Coach (Wayne) Demikoff and the other Hills coaches preached hard work and pushing yourself to your limits. They did everything right into making me a better person.”

Oseback, the son of Christa and John Oseback, was a 2-year starter on the offensive line and also excelled on defense, where he’ll most likely play in college. Playing defensive end, Oseback had 42 tackles last season, with a team-leading 13 tackles for losses. He also led the Patriots in quarterback sacks, with seven.

Choosing The College of New Jersey to continue his education was an extension of the discipline Stanley learned at Wayne Hills.

“I see The College of New Jersey the same way (as Hills),” said Oseback. “They push the best out of each other, not only on the field, but in the classroom. Both of my wrestling coaches also went to TCNJ, and they are extremely hard workers.

Oseback and his teammates celebrated a Bowl game title in 2018, at MetLife Stadium.

“I also think it’s a great school to help me set up my future, as I’d like to be a State Trooper. I will be studying Criminology. I had such a great experience at Hills playing football and I see it being no other way at TCNJ.”

Demikoff was very happy for Oseback and his college decision.

“Stan is going to have a great college career,” said Demikoff. “He is going to a great school, both academically and athletically. TCNJ is getting a kid who is motivated, disciplined, and hard working. He is very disruptive on defense, due to his speed and aggressiveness. TCNJ just got a steal of a player.”

At Wayne Hills, Oseback was part of a program which put together a 29-12 record over the past four years, as well as a state sectional and Bowl game championship, in 2018.
